Discovery Programs

FibroGen’s research team is committed to discovering novel therapies in areas of major unmet medical need. Our goal is to continue to provide pipeline candidates supported by rigorous data in well-characterized therapeutic settings.

Research Platforms

All of FibroGen’s therapeutic candidates have been internally developed based on FibroGen’s pioneering research in two important areas of biology, hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF).

The 2016 Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award honors three physician-scientists for their discovery of the HIF pathway.
