FibroGen, Inc. announced today that Roberto Pedro Rosenkranz, Ph.D. and James A. Schoeneck have been appointed to the FibroGen Board of Directors. FibroGen has expanded the Board to include Dr. Rosenkranz and Mr. Schoeneck, who will not replace current Directors.
Dr. Rosenkranz is the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ROXRO PHARMA, Inc. and is also a Director of Pherin Pharmaceuticals. Prior to his leadership of ROXRO, Dr. Rosenkranz was president and COO of Scios, Inc., and held multiple research, development and marketing posts at Syntex Laboratories, Inc., and Roche Laboratories. He has led multiple public policy efforts for both the United States and Mexican governments to address drug abuse in these nations.
Mr. Schoeneck is CEO and Director of BrainCells Inc. He is also a Director of Depomed, Inc. He previously served as CEO and Director of ActivX Biosciences, Inc., and as president, CEO and Director of Prometheus Laboratories, Inc. He also served as vice president and general manager of the Immunology Business Unit and vice president of Marketing and Commercial Development at the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, Centocor, Inc., and in multiple sales and marketing positions at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer.
