Description: FG-3019 is a
fully human monoclonal antibody against Connective Tissue Factor
(CTGF), a multifunctional protein involved in the regulation of
cell growth and maintenance and in tissue remodeling, and a key
mediator of chronic fibrosis (persistent and excessive scarring).
Status: Preclinical studies in models of kidney fibrosis and
diabetes demonstrate that FG-3019 inhibits proteinuria and fibrosis,
key drivers of diabetic nephropathy, and improves kidney function.
FibroGen has completed a Phase 1b multi-center study of FG-3019 in
diabetic patients with microalbuminuria (incipient nephropathy).
Results will be reported at the 2006 American Society of Nephrology
meeting. |
