Description: FG-3019 is a
fully human monoclonal antibody against Connective Tissue Factor
(CTGF), a multifunctional protein involved in the regulation of
cell growth and maintenance and in tissue remodeling, and a key
mediator of chronic fibrosis (persistent and excessive scarring).
Status: CTGF has been shown to affect tumor growth and
metastasis in pancreatic cancer, and CTGF has been shown to be a
survival factor. FibroGen has received Phase I Small Business
Innovation Research funding from the National Cancer Institute and
is exploring anti-CTGF therapy in invasive cancers including
pancreatic cancer, osteolytic breast cancer, and glioblastoma. An
Investigational New Drug application is on file with the FDA to
begin a clinical study of FG-3019 in pancreatic cancer. |
