Senior Research Associate, Molecular Biology

This position will support FibroGen's Molecular Biology group by
conducting gene expression studies and cell-based analyses to support
drug discovery and target validation projects.
Proficient in molecular methods, including quantitative RT-PCR
(TaqMan, TLDA, ABI 7900HT) and microarray expression profiling
(Affymetrix)
Expertise in cell culture, including transfection / infection and
siRNA strategies
Demonstrated expertise in large dataset analysis, statistical
methods and experimental design is highly desired
Strong computer skills in high-throughput data mining (GeneSpring
GX, Partek), nucleic acid and protein sequence analysis (Vector NTI,
public tools), and statistics, spreadsheet and database software
implementation (PRISM, R, nQuery, Excel, Access)
Experience with bioinformatics, pathway analysis, proteomics,
chromatin IP and/or tiling array analysis is also beneficial
Requirements
BS in life sciences / chemistry with 5+ years related experience or
MS degree with 3+ years related experience
Functional genomics and cell-based research experience in a
commercial setting
Excellent written and oral communication skills, independent
problem-solving skills, and the ability to contribute in a team
environment are essential
